The Spanish saxophone quartet Kebyart celebrates its tenth anniversary during the 2024-2025 season. Over this decade, the quartet has continuously broken barriers and firmly established itself in the classical music scene, debuting at festivals and venues where no saxophone quartet had performed before, such as the Lockenhaus Festival, the Hindsgavl Festival, the Perelada Festival, the Schubertíada or the iconic chamber music series in Basel. They have also inspired composers who had never before explored the instrument, such as Jörg Widmann. This remarkable trajectory was recognized by ECHO (European Concert Hall Organisation) when they were named Rising Stars during the 2021-2022 season.

The four talented musicians not only share a passion for chamber music but also a desire to bring a fresh perspective to classical music. Their distinctiveness lies in their creative and open approach to the repertoire, which includes original compositions, their own arrangements, and newly commissioned works.

Kebyart regularly performs in major European concert halls such as the Philharmonie in Paris, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Tonhalle in Zurich, and the Alte Oper in Frankfurt. They have also participated in renowned festivals such as the Mozartwoche in Salzburg, Heidelberger Frühling, Rheingau Musik Festival, Dresdner Musikfestspiele, Musica Insieme in Bologna, and the Santander Festival.

They collaborate with internationally renowned artists such as Nicolas Altstaedt, Xavier Sabata, and Dénes Várjon to enrich and explore new sound dimensions. They have also worked with prestigious orchestras, including the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, and the Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra, among others.

Committed to musical excellence, Kebyart has received consistent mentorship from renowned musicians and chamber ensembles such as Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet), the Cuarteto Casals, pianists Anton Kernjak and Claudio Martínez-Mehner, and saxophonist Nacho Gascón. Additionally, they were students of the European Chamber Music Academy, where they received invaluable guidance from masters like Hatto Beyerle (Alban Berg Quartet), Johannes Meissl, and Patrick Jüdt, among others.

Since 2022, they have been recording with the Scottish label Linn Records-Outhere. Their two albums, Lectures différentes and Traum der Jugend, have received outstanding reviews, and they are now preparing to release a new album dedicated to Ravel in the spring of 2025.

The quartet will be the ensemble-in-residence at the Palau de la Música Catalana for two seasons starting in the fall of 2025. As brand ambassadors, Kebyart plays Selmer Paris saxophones and uses Vandoren accessories. The quartet is currently based in Berlin.
